4 Amazing Benefits Of Invisalign Dental Braces

Dentist Blog

Is your teenage kid's self-confidence waning because they are wearing metal dental braces? Fortunately, more effective and almost invisible dental aligners are available. Polyurethane Invisalign dental aligners are transparent and fit perfectly on each tooth. To install these aligners, an orthodontist starts by scanning the dental structure. It allows molding the braces to perfectly fit the ridgeline of the teeth. It is hard to see these braces unless you look closely. Invisible aligners offer several benefits:

1. More Comfortable to Wear

Metal braces can feel uncomfortable because of the sharp edges rubbing against the inner sides of the mouth. Some people develop sores from micro-cuts. Invisalign aligners are made of stiff Invisalign polyurethane that feels smooth against the insides of the mouth.

These clear aligners are also custom fit. The orthodontist scans the dental structure so that each tooth's profile is highly accurate and the braces fit perfectly. Then, the orthodontist adjusts the aligners gradually in each dental visit until each tooth is properly aligned.

2. Easier Dental Hygiene

Dental hygiene can be a challenge when wearing metal braces because of food debris accumulation in and around the brackets. Plaque buildup can cause cavities and gum disease, invalidating the use of dental braces.

Dental hygiene is easier with Invisalign aligners because you can remove them during meals. You can also clean them easily with an antiseptic solution to prevent bacterial growth. In addition, you can brush normally because they are removable, which means you can maintain a high level of dental hygiene.

3. Maintain Normal Eating Habits

You are restricted from eating certain foods when wearing dental braces. You can't bite into hard foods like nuts to avoid bending the wires or removing the brackets. This diet restriction disrupts dietary habits.

However, you can maintain your dietary habits with removable Invisalign aligners. That said, eating with the aligners is not advisable to avoid food debris accumulation. Brushing the teeth or rinsing the mouth keeps the aligners clean. Otherwise, you are free to eat or drink whatever you like.

4. Higher Self-confidence

Wearing braces is supposed to align crooked teeth. If a child has low confidence because of bad teeth, it takes time to build confidence when wearing traditional braces. They are very noticeable, which can make the child feel shy and self-conscious.

Invisalign aligners are hardly noticeable. Your child can wear them with ease and build up more self-confidence when they start seeing positive results.

Would you want a bright and confident smile from your child? Then, call an orthodontist. They can provide more information regarding Invisalign.

Mouth Rinses Are Not Just for Bad Breath

I have always brushed and flossed my teeth daily, but I still had the occasional cavity when I visited the dentist for a check-up. He told me it was normal to have a cavity on occasion and that I shouldn't let it stress me out too much. Well, I am not one to just accept any problem I am having, so I started looking into how to improve my oral hygiene even more. I had always thought mouthwash was just to improve your breath, but I found some that said they helped keep cavities away. I started using one every day before bed. I haven't had a cavity in two years now, and I think the mouth rinse is the reason! I created this blog to remind other people that even if they brush and floss regularly, they can always find ways to take even better care of their teeth.
